United Kingdom has reentered into international politics in a new reactive avatar. After Keir Starmer took the reins as the Prime Minister of United Kingdom, the 10 downing street became assertive and aggressive in its foreign policy and diplomacy.
Before 2013, the UK was used to be associated with the US, nearly in every international affair. When the drums of the possible military intervention with US in Syria over the use of chemical weapons started to sound loudly in 2012-13, the UK Parliament moved aside the proposal of military intervention along with the US, by 114 votes, compelling the government to stay away from the international arena. Perhaps it was that prevalent opinion that saw David Cameron dethroned.
