🔴Historical influences on present events in India – Pakistan relations. India needed to tread cautiously!

In the peak cold war days, Russia installed a puppet government in Afghanistan in 1988. This bought the neighboring Pakistan as a launching pad against the Russians by US and Western allies. The US and Arab countries started to provide massive aid to Pakistan to train Mujahideen fighters. This has proven a training ground for helping Pakistan in  strategic planning to destabilize Kasmir by infiltrating terrorists. The Russians left Afghanistan, and Mujahideens were directed towards Kashmir under the false alarm of Jihad.  Once the Russians left Afghanistan, Taliban established its tyrannical hard-line Sharia based rule. The twin towers of the US were  grounded and reduced to rubble by planes crashing into it. US, for the first time, become aware of what it helps to nurture. US opened up a new global front against terrorism, and, started an international search for Osama Bin Laden. Terrorism prevailed and troubled the world in myriad forms and on false pretexts of nationalism or injustice

  Afterwards, the US along with numerous countries countries stand witness to being attacked by Jihadists either in their countries or by attacking military bases, embassies, crowded tourist and religious places etc. US found Laden and neutralized him by  raiding his hiding place in Pakistan. The US presence in Iraq motivated the expelled and disgruntled high-ranking military officers of Saddam Hussein and hardliners Islamists to give birth to ISIS. The brutality and lightening speed with which ISIS moved occupy more than half of Iraq in no time and spread its poisonous tentacles across the world. the US had to deal with ISIS by forming Western alliance, including Kurds and armies of other Arab countries. The presence of foreign mercenaries in ISIS brought forth the terrible and frightening face of jihadist terrorism and how deep and long its malicious teaching penetrated the globe.

Its a fact that Pakistan stood out as a country supporting, training, and nurturing terrorists to spread all over the world.

 India, till then a not so favored nation in US’ coterie found vindication of hollow acknowledgment of US.  The ISIS tried a revision of ‘Shariat dominated Khalifet’.  Turkey helped Pakistan openly in a recent short war with India and, in the past, openly backed Pakistan induced terrorism in Kashmir. Turkey raised false concerns for Kasmir against India from international forums like UN. China succeeded in bending tarrifs of Trump for the benefit of credit and for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Trump immediately started touring Arab countries. Armenia- Azerbaijan conflict saw Turkey openly supporting Azerbaijan. Turkey dreamt of a Turkish empire stretching to Indian peninsula. Bangladesh student agitation to topple Sheikh Hadina government took nasty turn after penetrated and took over by bigot and fanatic pro- Pakistan Islamist groups turning the agitation anti Hindu & anti- minorities. After the agitation toppled the Hasina government and she took  shelter in India, Bangladesh neglected  the Indian role in its liberation, it also forgot Pakistani atrocities, and openly joined Pakistan. Mr Trump wants the Nobel Prize for his self-proclaimed role as peacemaker in effecting a ceasefire in recent Indo-Pak war. Once the Indian authorities started opposing President Trump, he turned ferocious and, openly started courting Pakistan. The US president is trying to mediate into Russia – Ukraine War and Israel Hamas Palestine war.  India should be very cautious of the fast changing geopolitical dimensions and need to keep all its  options open !
